Installation and configuration

  1. Add the tap-strava extractor to your project using
    meltano add
    :
  2. meltano add extractor tap-strava --variant briansloane
  3. Configure the tap-strava settings using
    meltano config
    :
  4. meltano config tap-strava set --interactive
  5. Test that extractor settings are valid using
    meltano config
    :
  6. meltano config tap-strava test

Your Strava access token.

Client ID (client_id)

  • Environment variable: TAP_STRAVA_CLIENT_ID

Your Strava client ID.


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

meltano config tap-strava set client_id [value]

Client Secret (client_secret)

  • Environment variable: TAP_STRAVA_CLIENT_SECRET

Your Strave client secret.


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

meltano config tap-strava set client_secret [value]

Code (code)

  • Environment variable: TAP_STRAVA_CODE

Your Strava auth code.


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

meltano config tap-strava set code [value]

Refresh Token (refresh_token)

  • Environment variable: TAP_STRAVA_REFRESH_TOKEN

Your Strava refresh token. Requires read_all permissions.


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

meltano config tap-strava set refresh_token [value]

Start Date (start_date)

  • Environment variable: TAP_STRAVA_START_DATE

Determines how much historical data will be extracted. Please be aware that the larger the time period and amount of data, the longer the initial extraction can be expected to take.

meltano config tap-strava set start_date [value]
