Getting Started

Prerequisites

If you haven't already, follow the initial steps of the Getting Started guide:

  1. Install Meltano
  2. Create your Meltano project

Installation and configuration

  1. Add the tap-outbrain extractor to your project using
    meltano add
    :
  2. meltano add extractor tap-outbrain
  3. Configure the tap-outbrain settings using
    meltano config
    :
  4. meltano config tap-outbrain set --interactive
  5. Test that extractor settings are valid using
    meltano config
    :
  6. meltano config tap-outbrain test

Access Token (access_token)

  • Environment variable: TAP_OUTBRAIN_ACCESS_TOKEN

An optional argument. If provided, this will be used as the access token, and a new one won't be generated.


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

meltano config tap-outbrain set access_token [value]

Account Id (account_id)

  • Environment variable: TAP_OUTBRAIN_ACCOUNT_ID

The Marketer ID (unique to each account) in Outbrain. Looks like 00f4b02153ee75f3c9dc4fc128ab041962.


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

meltano config tap-outbrain set account_id [value]

Password (password)

  • Environment variable: TAP_OUTBRAIN_PASSWORD

The Outbrain password to go along with username.


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

meltano config tap-outbrain set password [value]

Start Date (start_date)

  • Environment variable: TAP_OUTBRAIN_START_DATE

Determines how much historical data will be extracted. Please be aware that the larger the time period and amount of data, the longer the initial extraction can be expected to take.


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

meltano config tap-outbrain set start_date [value]

Username (username)

  • Environment variable: TAP_OUTBRAIN_USERNAME

The Outbrain username used to generate an Amplify API token.


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

meltano config tap-outbrain set username [value]
