Smoke Test

Generates sample data to be used for testing.

The tap-smoke-test extractor pulls data from Smoke Test that can then be sent to a destination using a loader.

Prerequisites

  2. Create your Meltano project

Installation and configuration

  1. Add the tap-smoke-test extractor to your project using
    meltano add

  5. Test that extractor settings are valid using
    meltano config

Schema Inference Record Count (schema_inference_record_count)

  • Environment variable: TAP_SMOKE_TEST_SCHEMA_INFERENCE_RECORD_COUNT
  • Default Value: 5

How many records of the source data should be used for schema inference/construction.


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

meltano config tap-smoke-test set schema_inference_record_count [value]

Streams (streams)

  • Environment variable: TAP_SMOKE_TEST_STREAMS

An array of objects containing:

  • stream_name: The name of the stream.
  • input_filename: Path to a jsonl file containing records to use for mock data.
  • client_exception: (Default False) Whether we should simulate failing by having the client raise an exception.
  • schema_gen_exception: (Default False) Whether we should simulate failing by raising an exception during schema inference.
  • loop_count: (Default 1) The number of times we should playback the input file.

Flattening Enabled (flattening_enabled)

  • Environment variable: TAP_SMOKE_TEST_FLATTENING_ENABLED

'True' to enable schema flattening and automatically expand nested properties.

Flattening Max Depth (flattening_max_depth)

  • Environment variable: TAP_SMOKE_TEST_FLATTENING_MAX_DEPTH

The max depth to flatten schemas.

Stream Map Config (stream_map_config)
